AI Summaries
Generate structured AI summaries from your note content.
The AI Summary feature reads your note's content and produces a well-structured, condensed version that captures the key ideas. It's useful for long notes, transcribed lectures, or any content where you want the key takeaways extracted automatically.
Generating a summary
Open a note and tap the AI button (sparkle icon) in the toolbar, then select Summarize.
Open a note and tap the AI/sparkle button in the top toolbar, then tap Summarize.
Open a note and click the AI menu (sparkle icon) in the top-right area, then select Summarize.
The summary appears below your original content. Generation typically takes 5–15 seconds depending on note length.
What the summary includes
The AI organizes the summary into structured sections based on the content:
- Key concepts and definitions
- Main arguments or findings
- Important facts and data points
- Conclusions or takeaways
The structure adapts to your content — a lecture note gets different sections than a research article.
Regenerating a summary
If you've updated the note content and want a fresh summary, use the same Summarize action. The new summary replaces the previous one.
Regenerating a summary is permanent — the previous version is not saved. Copy it first if you want to keep it.
