Chat History
Save, browse, and manage your Ask AI conversations so you never lose a useful exchange.
Chat History automatically saves your Ask AI conversations so you can revisit them later. Every question and answer is preserved per note — pick up where you left off or review past exchanges anytime.
Chat History is available on Plus, Pro, and Max plans. Free users can still use Ask AI, but conversations are not saved between sessions.
How it works
When you're on a paying plan, every Ask AI conversation is automatically saved to the note it belongs to. There's nothing extra to turn on — just start chatting and your messages are saved as you go.
Each conversation gets a title based on your first message. All conversations are sorted by most recent activity.
Viewing your conversations
Open a note and switch to the Ask tab. On desktop, the right panel shows your conversation list alongside the chat. On smaller screens, tap the menu icon in the header to open the conversation drawer.
Open a note and switch to the Ask tab. Tap the clock icon in the toolbar to open the Chat History sheet.
The list shows each conversation's title and when it was last active. Tap any conversation to load it and continue chatting.
Starting a new conversation
Click the New Chat button at the top of the conversation list. This clears the current chat and starts a fresh conversation.
Open the Chat History sheet and tap New Chat. The current conversation is saved and a blank chat opens.
You can have as many conversations per note as you like. Each one is independent.
Renaming a conversation
Conversations are auto-titled from your first message. You can rename them to something more descriptive.
Hover over a conversation in the list and click the ellipsis menu (three dots), then select Rename. Type the new title and press Enter or click Save.
Long-press a conversation in the Chat History sheet and select Rename from the context menu. Edit the title in the dialog and tap Save.
Deleting a conversation
Hover over a conversation and click the ellipsis menu, then select Delete. Confirm in the dialog that appears.
Long-press a conversation in the Chat History sheet and select Delete. Confirm when prompted.
Deleting a conversation is permanent — it cannot be recovered.
Free users
If you're on the Free plan, the conversation list shows an upgrade prompt instead of saved conversations. Your Ask AI chats still work normally, but they reset each time you navigate away from the note.

Usage
Chat History itself doesn't use any additional quota — only sending messages in Ask AI counts against your monthly AI calls. See Subscription Plans for limits.
