Tags
Add hashtag-style labels to notes for cross-folder organization.
Tags are cross-folder labels that let you connect notes that belong to different topics or folders. Unlike folders, a single note can have multiple tags.
Adding a tag to a note
Type a # followed by a word anywhere in the note's title or content, and it becomes a tag automatically. For example: #psychology or #lecture-notes.
Use hyphens for multi-word tags: #study-techniques is cleaner than combining two words.
Tags appear as highlighted chips when you view the note, making them easy to spot.
Browsing by tag
Tags appear in the left sidebar (or the filter menu on smaller screens). Tap a tag to see all notes that contain it.
Tags appear in the navigation drawer. Tap a tag to filter the note list.
Tags appear in the left sidebar under the Tags section. Click any tag to open the filtered view.
Autocomplete
When you type # in a note, Repeatica suggests existing tags so you stay consistent. Tap or click a suggestion to insert it.
Removing a tag
Delete the #tag text from the note content or title — the tag disappears once no notes reference it.
Tags vs. folders
| Tags | Folders | |
|---|---|---|
| A note can belong to | Multiple | One |
| Created by | Typing # in the note | Explicit creation |
| Appears in | Tag browser + inline in note | Folder list |
Use folders for broad categories (e.g., "University", "Work") and tags for cross-cutting themes (e.g., "#memory", "#important").
