Folders
Organize your notes into folders and subfolders, and customize them with colors.
Folders let you group related notes together. Notes don't have to be in a folder — by default they appear in your main notes list — but folders help when you want to separate topics, projects, or subjects.
Creating a folder
In the sidebar, tap the + next to Folders, or long-press in the folder list to reveal New Folder. Give it a name and optionally pick a color.
Tap the + button and select New Folder, or use the navigation drawer.
Click New Folder at the bottom of the sidebar's folders section. You can also right-click any folder for a context menu.
Subfolders
Repeatica supports two levels of folders: root folders and subfolders inside them. This is enough hierarchy for most use cases without becoming overwhelming.
Creating a subfolder
Long-press (or right-swipe) a root folder to reveal its context menu, then tap Create Subfolder.
Hover over a root folder in the sidebar and click the ··· menu, then select Create subfolder.
Subfolders cannot themselves contain subfolders — the maximum depth is two levels.
Navigating subfolders
When you open a parent folder, any subfolders appear above the notes list. On the web, the sidebar shows subfolders indented below their parent with a collapse/expand toggle.
Deleting a parent folder
Deleting a folder that contains subfolders promotes those subfolders to the top level — they are not deleted. Notes inside the deleted folder are returned to the main notes list.
Moving notes into a folder
Long-press a note to select it, then tap Move to Folder and pick the destination.
Long-press a note and select Move to Folder.
Right-click a note and select Move to Folder, or drag the note onto a folder in the sidebar.
The folder picker shows your full hierarchy — root folders and their subfolders — so you can move a note directly into any level.
Folder colors
Each folder can have a color to make it visually distinct in the sidebar.
Long-press a folder to open its context menu, then tap Edit.
Long-press a folder and select Edit.
Hover a folder in the sidebar and click ··· → Rename or Delete. Color is set during folder creation or editing.
Choose from the preset color swatches. Subfolders inherit their parent's color if no color is set.
Renaming and deleting folders
Use the same edit/options menu as for colors to rename or delete a folder.
Deleting a folder does not delete the notes inside it. Notes return to the main list; subfolders are promoted to root.
