Create & Edit Notes

How to create, write, edit, and delete notes in Repeatica.

Creating a note

iOSAndroid

Tap the + floating action button (bottom-right corner) on the Notes screen.

Web

Click New Note in the sidebar.

A new note opens immediately. Start with a clear title — something specific enough that you'll know what the note is about weeks later.

Writing content

The content area below the title supports Markdown. Type naturally and use Markdown syntax for structure. See Markdown Support for the full syntax reference.

Repeatica auto-saves as you type. There's no save button and no risk of losing your work.

Editing an existing note

Tap or click any note to open it. The title and content are always editable — just tap to place your cursor and start typing.

If a note has an active AI process running (transcription, extraction, or generation), editing is temporarily blocked until it finishes. This prevents your edits from being overwritten by the incoming result.

Note details (iOS)

iOS

Tap the button in the note toolbar to open the Note Details sheet. It shows:

  • Metadata — created date, last modified, word count, and estimated read time
  • Tags — add or remove tags without entering edit mode
  • Table of contents — tap any heading to jump to that section in the note

Deleting a note

Deleted notes go to the Trash — they're not permanently removed immediately.

iOS

Swipe left on a note and tap Delete, or open the note and use the more options menu (···).

Android

Long-press a note to select it, then tap Delete, or open the note menu.

Web

Right-click a note in the sidebar or note list and select Delete, or use the note's action menu.

Restoring a deleted note

Open Recently Deleted from the sidebar to see all soft-deleted notes. Tap or click Restore to bring a note back.

Notes in the trash are permanently deleted after 30 days.

Permanently deleting

From Recently Deleted, you can permanently delete individual notes or empty the entire trash at once. This cannot be undone.
