Create Your First Note
Learn how to create a note and what you can add to it.
A note in Repeatica is the central unit of everything. It holds your ideas, summaries, flashcards, voice recordings, images, YouTube videos, and PDFs — all in one place.
Creating a note
Tap the + button (bottom-right floating action button) on the Notes screen.
Tap the + button (bottom-right FAB) on the Notes screen.
Click the New Note button in the sidebar.
A new note opens immediately with an empty title and content area.
Writing your note
Give your note a title at the top — something specific is better than something vague. Then write your content below. Repeatica supports Markdown, so you can use headings, bullet lists, bold text, code blocks, and more. See Markdown Support for the full reference.
You don't need to write a perfect note on the first pass. Capture the raw idea first — then use AI to generate a structured summary and flashcards from it.
What you can attach
Every note can have multiple attachments:
| Attachment | What it does |
|---|---|
| Voice Note | Record audio; Repeatica auto-transcribes it into your note |
| Image | Add a photo; AI can read and extract text from it |
| YouTube Video | Paste a URL; AI transcribes the video content |
| Upload a file; AI extracts the text |
See the Attachments section for details on each type.
Generating AI content
Once you have some content in a note, you can:
- Summarize — AI condenses it into a structured summary
- Generate Flashcards — AI creates question-and-answer cards for spaced repetition
Both are available from the AI menu inside the note. See AI Summaries and AI Flashcards for full guides.
Notes sync automatically
Repeatica saves your note as you type and syncs across all your devices in real time. There's no manual save button.
